2018 was an excellent year for us with 50 or so assorted fun and trophy games, and culminating with our Christmas dinner held at Stan and Ollies which was attended by 54 members and their partners.
Presentation of the player of the year awards were given out during the evening with Theresa Wright being the runner up and “keeping it in the family”, husband Nigel taking the top spot. And although our next Player of the year trophy games do not commence until March we are continuing to play competitive games every Friday.
The year started at Vistabella on the 3rd of January with Alex Bolten coming out on top with an excellent 40 points and an immediate handicap cut. Our next game was at the always good Alenda which was won by Martin Collins.
The weather continued to be kind to us and our next game at Altorreal was won by Vice Captain Dave Johnson. A fun game of texas scramble followed at Roda with the winning team of Captain George Marshall Dean, Dave Johnson, Helen Bailey and Theresa Wright taking the honours in this one.
Altorreal followed, and with a very good score of 38 points Ray Batey won this fixture.
With a variety of winners and some excellent scores so far, this years trophy games are looking to be very competitive. We travel to Bonalba for our next fixture on the 15th of February, anyone wishing to play this, or any other game with us should contact at rubysgolf@yahoo.co.uk.
