40 hardy members turned up in very cold conditions to pit themselves against La Finca which proved difficult with the additional problem of strong winds not helping!

All this proved too much for one player, Chris Bellman, who was advised to head straight for the practice ground having posted just 15 pts.

For the 2nd time in 3 events the 2’s pot went unclaimed which showed how tricky the greens were playing – the pot now rolls over to our next game in two weeks time.

Nearest the pins sponsored by our host bar The Ale House saw Matt Taylor winning 2, Kenny McPhearson and Joost Boelhouwer 1 each followed by Liz Sully who managed 1 as well as finishing the day as the Best Lady player scoring 27 pts off handicap 15.

The guest players on the day saw Russell Bond 3rd scoring 24pts off 19, Steve Hart 2nd with 25pts off 18 and winning with 28pts off 18 was our latest recruit Nigel Arthur.

On to our Members categories starting with Silver Liz added to her tally of wins with 3rd place just behind Darrell Rose 2nd scoring 28pts off 15 missing out on 1st place on count back to Barry ‘the loudest golfer’ Mitchell also 28pts off 15.

Gold section saw some better scores with Russell Bailey again on the podium with 30pts off handicap 11, Joost Boelhouwer 2nd with 31 off 9, headed by the ever popular Tony Smale shooting 33pts off his mark of 7.

Well done to all players and on to Vistabella on the 25th January where there are still some available places so log onto our website www.theplazagolfsociety.com and join us.
