The Celts Club de Golf May Championship. It was a very warm day yesterday at La Serena, thankfully the wind got up by early morning to take some of the heat out of the day. The weather is really fantastic for the new greens and once again the grass takes on its green hue after the long winter sleep.

Bruno, Miguel and all the team have to be congratulated as the course is in superb condition. The greens are running through and are at 10 on the stimp meter.  The restaurant staff are coping very well with another communion at the same time as our prize presentation.

Well done Gloria, Vanessa, Marijose and the rest of the team. Jose and Jean, the new app is working out very nicely indeed and results and presentation was under way within 5 minutes of the last group finishing. All 88 players returned their cards via the app, the way to go for sure.

Camillus and his trusty team of Philip and Alan as per usual looked after all our needs and we literally just turned up and played golf . On behalf of all the members, thank you. Camillus also reminds members to contact him if they are sharing a buggy or car pooling so that he can draw players as close as possible to each other on the timesheet.

The results were as follows, Monthly medal winners,Cat I Pavla Serakova 68. Cat II Terry Lambert 63 and a three shot reduction in his handicap. Cat III William Stewart 67. NTP’s, Geoff Ellender, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Colin Fleming, Colin Soones, Tony Burns and Alan Ewing. Cat II winner Logan Nayager, 40, Dave Stockton 40 asnd Debby Boelhouwer 40.

Thank you once again to all those who remained to collect their prizes and also honour our winners. We only had one no show for a prize, such a marked difference from the recent past.
