With a late change of course to Bonalba must have suited the players in this weeks Spring Trophy Match pairs better ball event with some great scores.
The winners were Michael Taylor and Arthur Sullivan with 46 points this score was helped by a fabulous 3 for 5 points when Sullivan Chipped from the rough over the bunker and rolled some 40 meters straight in to the hole,” Man did he smile “and from that point onwards there was no looking back.
Second chasing hard on the heels of the winners on 45 points with some excellent play by both members of the team was David Knight and Peter Gibson
Third just one point back on 44 points was John Daniels and Paddy Kenmore
This week we had two 2s from team members of the top groups on hole 4 was John Daniels and Hole 8 David Knight no doubt that this helped their score.
Nearest the pins were Roy Booth on hole 4 with a very difficult pin position this week but narrowly missing a 2, and on hole 14 Fred Cooley who seems be in the frame somewhere each week.
We had 5 guests this week and they were made very welcome and the best team was Michael Grant and Paul Gilbert both receiving a bottle of wine.
The football card was won by Arthur Sullivan with West Brom.
It was great to see the course at Bonalba gradually getting back to normality obviously down to the hard work of the groundsman.
Our next match is at Font De Llop on the 20th March with a first tee slightly later than normal of 11.30 Guests are welcome please contact Michael Taylor on 639242896 or email mjt@stylepms.com
