Today at Oliva Nova we had 39 players trying to win the prestigious Blacktower Trophy. The format was medal, not everbody’s favourite game but at last the weather has improved and we had lots of warm sunshine. We welcomed 5 guests, George Smith, Mike Jones, Chris Anderson, Andrew Gibson and Barry Tilby. .Chris walked off with guest prize with a good score of 76.
The main competition results were as follows:
Ist was Shaun O’Gorman with a great score of 71 playing off 4.3. Shaun also won the Lowest Gross Score prize today with 77. Needed a bag to take home all the bottles and the trophy! Well done!
2nd was Bob (Gday Mate) Jenkins with a good score of 73 playing off 17.6
3rd was Jean Taylor with 74 playing off 14.7
4th was Paul Sankey with 75 playing 15.3
5th was Malcolm Wise also with 75 playing off 9.9
6th was Dave Phillips, our Captain with 76 playing off 31.6
Nearest the Pin on Hole 5 was Penny Barden with 2.42m and on the 16th Ken Miller with 3.1m.
John Guest was very pleased to win the only 2 today.
Next week we have a Stableford Competition and also we have our AGM after the game or before the game if the weather is bad.
