After its successful debut a couple of weeks ago we played the competition known as ‘Medford’ on Monday. This is where the number of points scored on the back nine holes is deducted from the number of net strokes taken on the first nine. The lower your final score the better! Andrea Martin kept up her run of winning form with 16. Just one shot behind her was Pat Cassidy who edged out Andy Martin on countback.
It was a ‘Joker Stableford’ on Wednesday with each player nominating two holes before starting where the number of points scored was to be doubled. Pat Cassidy got his revenge and took the day with an outstanding 46 points (and yes handicaps would be cut on these results). Paul Brown managed runners up with 42 whilst Andrea is contemplating turning pro after earning third place with 40 points. Two ‘2’s today, both from the same player, but we don’t mention his name anymore!
After a bit of a lean spell I was finally part of the winning team on Friday. Together with Andy Martin (yes he gets a mention), Mike Chapman and Olga Douglas we scored 153 points in a ‘Yellow Peril + 2 to score’. With 142 it was Lindsay Forbes, Reg Akehurst, Alan Douglas and Joyce McClusky who took silver.
Breaking news! The World Health Organisation has announced that dogs cannot contract Covid-19. Dogs previously held in quarantine can now be released. To be clear, WHO let the dogs out.
Pues hasta la semana que viene
