We celebrated our anniversary captains “Camillus Fitzpatrick and Denis McCormack” with a fantastic day of golf at La Serena last Saturday.  The weather was ideal ideal for golf with 25 degrees and a gentle breeze keeping us cool. The golf course and the new greens again are in excellent condition, particularly when you take into account the course has been operating with reduced staff numbers due to Covid.

Congratulations to Miguel, Bruno, Jose, Gloria and Fina for looking after us on the day. Our competition committee are doing sterling work with a special thank you to Camillus, Terry, Alan and Philip who organised the 88 players.  It was a fantastic team effort well done.

We had our presentation dinner in Meson El Prado in San Miguel.  As always it worked like clockwork, even with the arrival of one or two unexpected guests.  We were delighted to welcome back Jackie after the relaxation of the Covid restrictions. Jackie entertained us performing some of our favourite songs.

I would like to mention especially Billy and his rendition of “Flower of Scotland” plus Ritchie and “Delila” thank you. You really helped make the evening.  We had 75 appreciative members and guests who attended the presentation and I would like to thank them one and all for showing their support to Camillus and Denis.
