After its successful stint on the British tour of the European Tour, the Golf for Good initiative continues this week within the framework of the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters. This project was born with three objectives in mind: to support the communities through which the European Tour passes, to reward the true heroes in this period of uncertainty generated by COVID-19, and to promote the many benefits that golf offers.

On this occasion, a spectacular setting has been chosen to shape the initiative. For every eagle and birdie achieved this week on hole 17, the European Tour will donate € 1,500 and € 500 respectively, money that will be distributed among four local NGOs. On Thursday, after the first day, 49 birdies and eight eagles were scored, which has already raised € 36,500.

The four entities that will benefit from this initiative are the following:

– Fegadi (Cadiz Federation of People with Physical Disabilities). Founded in 1986, this NGO finances 36 different entities whose strategic focus is to improve the quality of life, participation and the achievement of achievements by its associates, with health, culture, youth, sports and education as fundamental keys.

Andulusian Academy of Gastronomy and Tourism. The objective of this NGO is to promote Andalusia and its culture, gastronomy and products through different events and activities.

Aljaraque Foundation. This NGO is dedicated to promoting and developing education and training programs for vulnerable people or people in a situation of social exclusion in order to offer them professional opportunities in the sectors of hospitality, help for the elderly and childcare, among others.

For A Smile. Through various recreational initiatives, this NGO wants to bring hope, happiness and hope to children and adolescents affected by cancer in hospitals in the area.

Additionally, the European Tour collaborates with Callaway and local players at each tournament on the circuit to provide a significant material donation. In the case of the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters, Álvaro Quirós will donate Callaway practice balls from the Iberian tour of the circuit to the La Cañada Golf Club, one of the Andalusian nurseries of this sport and the golfing cradle of the professional from Guadia.

The Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters, European Tour tournament valid for the Race to Dubai that is held thanks to the essential collaboration of Real Club Valderrama, is sponsored by Estrella Damm and the Ministry of Tourism, Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration of the Junta de Andalucía, in addition to being Co-financed with European funds, declared an Event of Exceptional Public Interest by the Government of Spain, and supported by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation.
