He couldn’t have drawn it up any better.

Begin the FedExCup Playoffs on top of your game, flirt with a sub-60 round and head to the second week as the player to catch in the standings.

Dustin Johnson blew away the field at THE NORTHERN TRUST and won by 11 shots after a final-round 63 and posting 30 under for the week. “Obviously, this is a really good week,” said Johnson, who won for the 22nd time on TOUR.

“My ball-striking was unbelievable. I felt like I was swinging really good, but something clicked on Wednesday.” Johnson now has 12 consecutive rounds in the 60s. He also tied Rory McIlroy for the most FedExCup Playoffs victories with five and now has 19 top-10 finishes in Playoffs events, the most of any player.

“This week, I played some really good golf,” Johnson said. “It was a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to the rest of the FedExCup Playoffs.”

REVVING UP FOR THE BMW CHAMPIONSHIP

One down. Two more to go. The FedExCup Playoffs continue this week at the BMW Championship as the best players in the world inch one step closer to the TOUR Championship in Atlanta. Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois will bring some good vibes for Justin Thomas, who won by three shots last season.

Last week, Tiger Woods committed to the BMW Championship, basically saying he was all in for a potential three-week stretch in the FedExCup Playoffs. And Woods will have plenty of confidence after a solid showing at TPC Boston, where he finished with a final-round 66. Woods will be looking to become the first three-time winner of the FedExCup trophy.

He and Rory McIlroy are the only two-time winners.
