Played At Oliva Nova On Tuesday 8th Of May 2018
On the morning when we were due to play golf at Oliva Nova, we were treated to a wonderful day of warm sunshine and gentle breezes to play golf.
We were playing a Magic Three Competition, and the 28 members, were joined by one guest namely Andy McLaren all the way from “Bonnie Scotland.
The competition itself was played with two divisions for handicap
In the competition, the results for Division 1 were as follows:-
1st Place Colin Foster 42 Points playing off 17 Handicap. 2nd Place Robert Jenkins 38 Points playing off 21 Handicap. 3rd Place Terry Oram 37 Points playing off 19 Handicap on countback.
Results for Division 2 were as follows
1st Place Mervyn Joseph 40 Points playing off 24 Handicap. 2nd Place David (El Capitan) 39 Points playing off 37 Handicap. 3rd Place Alan Simpson 38 Points playing off 26 Handicap.
Nearest the pin at Hole No 5 with their second shot was David O’Connor with 2.33 meters, and at hole 16, nearest the pin was Malcolm Wise with 2.25 meters.
There was only one two scored today, and that was from Malcolm Wise at Hole 16.
The Balls in the water competition, was won today by our guest Andy McLaren and the amount of balls in the water this week was 84.
In the match play, the tie between Andrew Harrison and Malcolm Cannon, Malcolm won out in the country, and in the second match, it finished all square between Danny Herron and Steve Patton.
In match number three, Paul Trigwell was four up on Stella Fox, when Stella declared that she was in so much pain, that Paul agreed to reply this match at a later day. A nice gesture Paul, so well done.
In the final match of the day, Simon Fox defeated Mick Connolly by 3/2
