Today we had 37 players competing for the prestigious Terry Leary Trophy, remembering Terry who brought the use of a particular Anglo Saxon word to an art form. We welcomed two guests, John and Christine Bradbury.

Very good scores today and the results were as follows:

The Winner with a great score of 41 points off 15.2 was Colin Foster

2nd was a very put out Danny Herron with a great 40 points off 14.8, quite understandably thinking he would taking the trophy home.

3rd was Peter Cornes with 39 points off 26.8

4th was Alan Barwick with 38 points off 18.9

5th was Stella Fox with 36 points off 18.3

6th was Penny Barden with 36 points off 14.2

l played with Simon Fox who also scored 36 points but lost out on countback.

Terry’s daughter Carrie was unable to present the Trophy but gave a bottle of port to the lucky winner Colin, presented together with the Trophy by our Captain Bill Pike.

Nearest The Pin on hole 5 was Donna Green with 2m47 and on hole 16 Colin Foster again with 2m3.

Two twos today, won by Shaun O’Gorman and Colin Foster yet again! Certainly a Colin Foster Day!

The Balls In The Water competition was won by Jan Jones with a score of 97. Jan seems to be augmenting her OAP by winning quite often.

Next week we have a Stableford Competition, and guests wishing to play, subject to handicap, contact Penny Barden at pegohandicapsec@gmail.com and you will be warmly welcomed .
