As Oliva Nova were hosting a federation competition over the weekend, members of Montgo GS decided to head for the hills and play away at Font Del Llop. The course was in great condition and temperatures very high.
A stableford sponsored by Geoff Willcock saw eleven players take part including our visitor, Chris Chapman. Howard Bridges also returned to play with us from the UK. In fact, both Chris and Howard took nearest the pin prizes but no twos again this week. Not only were the temperatures high, but also the scores.
Heiko Schram came in with 41 points and had 1.9 cut off his handicap and is now playing off 18. Second on countback was Alan Lowans with 38 (down .8) from Sally Cottrell now down to 9.9. Sally hit some amazing shots and thanks the local pro for giving her a tip on the practice ground at no cost.
Geoff also gave a bottle of cava in a draw celebrating his wife Hilary’s birthday which went to Keith Cottrell. Next week Montgo play the Mojo Cup sponsored by the society.
