With some of Spain’s best lady professionals playing in a three day competition at Oliva, Montgo thought they would take the opportunity to play away. With an early start and several layers of clothing, 20 hardy souls played a stableford sponsored by Gerian van Ooijen and Francien Knoops.
All was going well weather wise until about three quarters of the way round the course when black clouds appeared, so did heavy rain and very strong winds. Luckily it passed fairly quickly and everyone made it in even though a little wet and windswept. This week the winner on countback was Captain, Sue Burman with 33 points from Peter Gardiner.
Peter reminded everyone of his birdie on the 10th hole from 130 metres and 5 points scored. Third was Neil Cuming with 32 points followed by Keith Cottrell with 30 points. Nearest the pins were won by Sue, Peter, Nigel Siddall and George Braddick. Jorgen Mortensen was welcomed as a guest.
