Feeling like a fresh Scottish morning, 24 Montgo members tee’d off to compete for the St Andrew’s Day Trophy on Friday. Phil Day and Dennis Torsen also joined as guests.
Eventually the sun came out and with layers of jumpers removed everyone enjoyed a good day. Considering after all the rain and very wet conditions some of the scores were very good.
With an exceptional score of 38 points playing of a handicap of 9.9 our winner was Franz Budnik. Gerian van Ooijen followed with 34 points on countback from Sally Cottrell. Gerian and Sally took the ladies nearest the pin prizes and the mens’ were won by Alan Lowans and Dennis Torsen.
Dennis, Gerian and Jimmy Fletcher also had two’s this week. Next week sees the winners from the year playing for the Champion’s Cup sponsored by John and Mary Feek and for the non qualifiers a stableford sponsored by Nigel Siddall.
