This week saw the return of Montgo Golf Societies’ Magic 3 format ,now fully understood by the players as no disqualifications were required this time around. This weeks´ sponsor, Celia Cronin, brought a Happy Easter mix of booze and chocolates for the lucky winners.
Happiest Bunny of the day Sue Burman bounced in with 41 points. Sue managed a rare 8 points on one hole by nominating the 6th for her Joker. Sue then parred the hole following an excellent chip onto the green and sinking a terrific putt.
Bouncing not quite so high Neil Cuming came in second with 39 points whilst George Braddick gently hopped into third with 37 points. With a small scratch behind the ear Denise Cooper came fourth with 36 points.
There were many NTP prizes available but most were awarded by card draw due to A) a lack of accuracy by both boys and girls on the 11th, and B) a failure to deliver the marker and tape to the 18th green for NTP in two. This remained on the back of someone´s buggy throughout the match. No names shall be mentioned regarding the residents of that buggy….eh Mr Russ Peters and Mr Colin Foster….ooo sorry did I type that out loud.
Therefore the only accurate winners were Heiko Schram and Christiane Gruboeck on the 3rd for the boys and girls respectively. Two two´s of the day, and taking home a coveted ball each were Richard Fox and Denise Cooper.
Matchplay competitions this week played out as follows: Stella and Simon Fox beat Peter Gardiner and Alan Skinner 1 up; John Day beat Patrick Lynch 3 and 1, and finally Keith Cottrell beat Peter Gardiner 2 and 1.
Next week is our Founder´s Day competition so book in early to avoid disappointment.
