Friday saw the sun shining again, the fairways mown and the greens putting well at Oliva for Montgo’s 2 Man Texas Scramble sponsored by Andrew Brown. Nine pairs took part (Captain Sue and her partner were trusted to mark their own card).
They arrived back at the clubhouse quite a while before the rest of the field and were witness to a great 2 on the 18th, driven and in the hole for an eagle by James Hayward. Unfortunately, that wasn’t quite enough to put them in the prizes.
First with 40 points were Gerian van Ooijen and Glenys Cuming, followed by Claire Stringer and Peter Gardiner with 36 points. Dirk Knappe took both the nearest the pins and George Braddick and Jim Hayward had two’s.

This week was saddened by the news of the passing of one of Montgo’s members, Linda Coe after a long illness. Our thoughts are with her husband Dennis and their family and friends.
