‘Mike Probert talks Golf – ‘Meet the Golf Societies Day

Here on the Costa’s golf is one of the biggest leisure time activities for both tourists and resident alike and with this in mind we have secured the services of Mike Probert of Costa Blanca Green Fee Services to provide a weekly round up of local golfing events and topics and in conjunction with us at THE LEADER will provide discounted golf prices to all of our readers and run our golf competitions.

As reported in a previous article the Pine and Olive golf courses from the former Mosa Trajectum Golf Resort have now been re-opened as an 18 hole golf course under the new name Altaona Village.

Originally opened as a 9 hole pay and play, now open as an 18 hole layout they are looking to develop business and are interested to work with local golf societies and can offer a golfing NEW Golfing experience to many local golf societies many of which have seen golf society prices increase significantly post pandemic.

Altaona Village in collaboration with Costa Blanca Green Fee Services and the Association of Murcian Golf Entrepreneurs have planned a ‘Meet the Golf Societies Day’ at the course on Saturday the 10^th September 2022 and have spaces for 60 players.

This will be a friendly day and the format will consist of a 4 person team stableford event playing from the lowest exact WHS/RFEG or Society handicap with prizes for the winners and nearest the pins.

The price is only €45 per person in a shared buggy or €35 per person walking but to ease the flow around the course it may be better if all players are in buggies as they are looking for a shotgun start.

In addition, the Restaurant offer a coffee and bap in the morning for only €5 and a BBQ after the round for €10 and both of these are dependant on the levels of interest.

Ideally any local golf society should enter a team of four players but if societies wished to enter less players they would attempt to combine and make up teams of four players from various societies.

Payment for the event would need to be made by the 7^th September 2022 to avoid any no shows on the day.
