Today the 7th October we played for the Lee Barber Memorial Shield at the ever-welcoming Altoreal Golf course, the course although around fifty minutes away is always worth the journey, we had twenty players competing for this shield, the climate was very good and the course which can be a challenge was in good condition.
We returned to our sponsors bar Little Leias by Consum in Quesada for our prize giving when Ian, Lisa and the staff prepared a mixture of sandwiches for us, this followed by a few liquid refreshments, if you haven’t visited Little Leias bar you’re really missing out as the food there is delicious.
Our par three nearest the pin winners were Jim Stevenson on the fifth, Gary Townsend on the eighth, Chris Soane on the tenth and Peter List on the seventeenth, our BF9 with fifteen points was Terry Sharley and our BB9 winner being Andy Rawlings with sixteen points all winners that returned to the bar received a bottle of wine that had been donated by Ian and Lisa owners of the bar, in second place with thirty points was Allan Collis who also received wine and the winner of our Shield Michael Lindstroem took home a bottle of vodka,.
We had two, two’s winners both scoring a two on hole ten being John Rush and Allan Collis who shared our two’s pot, our soccer card winner who selected Arsenal was new member Chris Smith.
Our November meeting is being held at the Seve Ballesteros designed Alicante Golf Club.
