26th November – This week the members of the La Marina Golf Society were competing for the Stamford Cup, which was donated to the Society, by one it’s members Peter Stevenson.
Today’s venue was at the La Finca Golf Course, where the windy conditions made some holes quite challenging. The winner of the Gold Division was Vice-Captain Gerry McCabe with 29points.
The winner of the Silver Division with 32points and therefore, the winner of the Stamford Cup was Rod Loveday.
Nearest the pin winners were, Gill Ludkiewicz on hole 3, Roy Harris on hole 6, whom both took a share of the two’s pot. Jimmy Scott was nearest the pin on hole 13 with Rod Loveday on hole 16.
Whilst this has been quite an unusual year, with Covid and the various restrictions opposed upon us, we are all very grateful for the games we did manage to play this year and to our Committee for their time and efforts in enabling us to have some enjoyment on the golf course, We thank you.
