For the second Tuesday in a row, a frosty golf course delayed play for over one hour, but, when proceedings started for the 15 members for El Plantio 2’s Yellow Ball competition, conditions seemed to be ideal. However, only the winning team took full advantage, finishing a full 18 points ahead of second place and a massive 27 in front of the third. Only these teams returned the Yellow Ball, thereby avoiding a 5 point penalty.
Nearest the pins: Hole 1 – Mike Davies, Hole 6 – Helen Beddows. Third place – John Wilby, Barry Walthall, Brian Coupe – 108 points. Second place – Ray Housley, Mike Davies, Chris Linathan – 117 points. First place – Alistair Douglas, Lyn Young, Brian Edwards – 135 points.
If anyone would like to join our Society, we play at El Plantio Golf Club every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. We use both courses – the Par 3 nine hole course and the main 18 hole course, so we cater for all abilities. The membership rates are very competitive, so call for more details.
Anyone who wishes to play in the Society as a guest or join as a new member, contact Ian Henderson on 966 716 616 or 636 116 230.
