This week’s competition was a foursomes, kindly sponsored by Patrick Lynch who is still in the UK. Montgo welcomed guests, Jorgen Mortensen, Howard Bridges and it was good to see Liz and Michel Grin again.

Winners with 37 points were George Braddick and Howard Bridges, followed by Sue Burman and Nigel Siddall with 36 points on countback from Geoff Willcock and Caz Welch.

The golfing gods were on the side of Sue and Nigel with both of them skimming balls off water to help them to a good score. Nearest the pins went to Sue and Liz. Alan Lowans won a Christmas pudding in a card draw and Neil Cuming who celebrated his 80th birthday on Thursday, presented a bottle of wine to Jim Hayward also in a card draw.

Next week’s competition is a Texas Scramble, sponsored by Mick Farmer. It is also our Christmas competition, so mince pies will be at the ready.
