Down in the Dominican Republic, windy conditions were also a challenge for the players at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.

But Joel Dahmen braved the elements to earn his first PGA TOUR victory. “It’s really hard to win golf tournaments,” an emotional Dahmen said. “I knew it was hard, but I can’t believe how hard it actually is.”

Dahmen, 33, shot 2-under 70 to finish at 12 under for the week and clipped Sam Ryder and Rafael Campos by one shot. Campos’ birdie putt on the 18th to force a playoff looked perfect but it slowly lipped out, giving Dahmen the victory.

The win earned Dahmen 300 FedExCup points and he is now fully exempt status through the 2022-23 season.
