Montgo Golf Society played Pego Golf Society in the Inter Society Annual Challenge at Oliva Nova Golf Course yesterday. This event was last played back in 2019, Covid getting in the way. But the Captain of Pego Celia Cronin and my good self was very keen to renew this Challenge.
So, with good heart and very hot weather 16 members from each society set off Playing a Four Ball Better Ball competition trying their best to win this Challenge for their Society’s. Prior to the match Pego had won this challenge on four occasions and Montgo three. Well, I am happy to report it is now Four – Four.
As Montgo won this year’s match with 33 points to Pego’s 15 points. We also had 4 Nearest the Points prizes on off with Pego winning all four prizes.
After the prize presentation by Carlos from Oliva all player tucked into a nice tapas lunch and a glass or two of the wine. I would like to thank our handicap Secretary Sue Burman for all the hard work she put to get our pairing etc spot on. Thank you, Sue.
