This week’s event took place at Saurines which appears to be our ‘Marmite’ course…..you either love it or hate it ! Scores suggest that it is not everybody’s cup of tea especially after an hour when the wind got up and gave the course a very ‘links’ course feel.

As always one player came up short and today it was the affable Gordy Brindley who commented…’never again’ !

However on to our results…..we had 5 nearest the pins sponsored by The Ale House which threw up 5 different winners, Steve Hitcham, Callam Hitcham,Tony Sims, Pat Dunne and the doing it for the ladies –  Liz Sully.

The 2’s pot showed how difficult the greens were with only two recipients, well done to Pat Dunne and Ronnie McMully winning 32 euros each.

Our guest section saw three new winners, which is great to see, in third was Alex Giles with 27 pts second John Stracham with 29 pts and top score of the day was posted by Rod Scott with a brilliant 36 pts.

Silver Division saw Tony Flood come third with 29 pts having seen more of the course than anybody else, second was Dean Tracy with 32 pts and winner was Gary Harper with 33pts.

Gold was a very close run thing with Callam Hitcham coming third with 29 pts beaten by 1 pt and back on the podium after a long absence, Phil De Lacy  was second  pipped on countback by a very surprised Russell Bailey both having 30 pts.

Well done to everybody as we move on to next Friday’s event which is our Turkey Trot held at Las Ramblas.
