It was evident since early Thursday that TPC Craig Ranch was going to yield plenty of scoring chances and low rounds. K.H. Lee’s response? Bring it on.
Lee battled through wet conditions and a two-hour weather delay on Sunday before going the lowest of them all at the AT&T Byron Nelson to claim his first PGA TOUR win.
Riding a hot (new) putter, Lee shot a final-round 6-under 66 to beat Sam Burns by three shots at TPC Craig Ranch, which was hosting a PGA TOUR event for the first time. “It was very tough conditions for everyone today,”
Lee said. “I tried to stay patient and played positive.” It was the 80th TOUR start for the 29-year-old South Korean, who earned 500 FedExCup points and moved up 55 spots to No. 29 in the standings.
Lee is now fully exempt through the 2022-23 season and earned his way into this week’s PGA Championship.
