The venue for today’s game was the Seve Ballesteros-designed Alicante Golf Course, where the members of the La Marina Golf Society were playing for the Brian Stewart trophy. The weather was perfect for playing Golf and the course was in great condition which, made for some high-scoring results.
The winner on countback with 40 points, therefore, winning the trophy was Roy Harris, with Bill Alan taking second place. Third place was also decided on countback as Sarah Mc Cabe and Gordon McLagan each got 36 points, the prize went to Gordon on this occasion, and we also saw Gordon winning the twos pot.
The nearest the pin winners were as follows: hole 3 was Les Pirie, hole 6 was Charlotte Tranberg, hole 12 was Ian Kirk and for hole 17 was Garry Garbett.
