The highlight of El Plantio 2’s Monthly Medal was a hole-in-one executed by Gary Needham at the 8th hole – the 2nd hole-in-one at this hole in 2 weeks. Hole 8 is one of the shortest holes on the course, but statistics say that it is the one most bogied, being surrounded on three sides by deep and difficult bunkers.
Last month’s medal runner-up, Alistair Douglas was in prime position to go one better, but a triple bogie at his last hole, No 8 – left him having to settle for 2nd place behind the excellent John Wilby. Also excelling was Alan Janes with two superb shots for nearest the pin.
Nearest the pins – Hole 4 and 9, Alan Janes. 3rd Place, John Burke, Handicap 7.1 – 54.9 shots, 2nd Place, Alistair Douglas, Handicap 12.9 – 53.1 shots. 1st Place, John Wilby, Handicap 3.3 – 52.7 shots.
If anyone would like to join our Society, we play at El Plantio Golf Club every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. We use both courses – the Par 3 nine hole course and the main 18 hole course, so we cater for all abilities.
The membership rates are very competitive, so call for more details. Anyone who wishes to play in the Society as a guest or join as a new member, contact Ian Henderson on 966 716 616 or 636 116 230
