Glorious weather greeted Captain Elspeth’s day at El Plantio, where the traditional format of 9 holes on the Par 3 course and 18 holes on the main course was enjoyed by a pleasingly high turnout of members.
Winner of the short course by a good margin was Gill Ludkiewicz with 23 points.
A hard fought battle on the main course resulted in several players vying for 3rd place but on countback Jeff Wiszniewski took the prize. In second place was Mark Pope with 34 points, but the winner, gaining her first major trophy, was Lesley Cullen with 36 points.
The two nearest the pins went to Gerrard McCabe and Graeme Buchanan and a record number of members, five in all, had to share the Twos Pot, namely Jeff Wiz, Alan Craig, Gerry McCabe , Graeme Buchanan and Mark Leigh.
Prize giving took place at our Captain’s Dinner provided by Helena and her staff at the La Marina Sports Centre where we enjoyed an excellent meal.
Many thanks to Elspeth for arranging a highly successful day.
