Just 24 members made the hour long journey along the A7 to Bonalba, although the Society was assembled 5 years ago we have never played at Bonalba. What a breath of fresh air to actually be “welcomed” to a course, upon arrival our buggies were all lined up with our names on ready to go, helpful staff in the caddy master and a special thank you to Richard Davies who made our visit so welcoming.
The course was in excellent condition and as some of us who had played it before could remember just what a challenge it is. Our friendly marshal made sure that we began on time and was seen from time to time around the course, excellent organisation throughout and the round completed in just 4 hours 20 minutes! Bonalba will now be added to our frequent visit list of courses for our 2018 calendar.
The results for today’s Stableford competition; N.T.P.’s Hole 4 K. Tucker, Holes 8 & 14 S. Adaland, Hole 11 D. Sullivan. Just €22 was contained in the 2’s pot and this was won by Mick Kennedy on the 14th our best guest was S. Adaland 36 points. Lower than usual numbers this week resulted in there being just 2 categories. Bronze category; 3rd place M. Mhyrvold 30 pts. 2nd H. Rong 32 pts on higher handicap and R. Nilsen in 1st place on lower handicap (32 pts.) Gold category; 3rd B. McMenamin 30 pts. 2nd M. Kennedy 33 pts. 1st C. Landaas 36 pts.
