Wednesday 31st October, El Plantio Golf Resort
Despite heavy overnight rain El Plantio was in a playable condition, there were some very patches off the fairways but in the main it was good. The competition this week was the Autumn Trophy generously sponsored by Steve Cliffe, with some excellent bottles of wine as prizes.
Taking home some of the prizes and the beautiful glass trophy with a score of 35 points was John Daniels, in second place was Steve himself with a score of 33 and in third spot with 32 was Chris Williamson beating David Brown on countback, Steve found himself with a couple of bottles over so he awarded one to Barbara Pollitt for managing a four putt and was eventually badgered into awarding the other to Arthur Sullivan for coming in fifth with a score of 30.
There were nearest the pin prizes on all four of the par three’s, on hole seven it was one of our guests, Stewart Robinson, hole nine, Malcolm Monti, who also sank the putt for a two, Steve Cliffe was closest on the fourteenth and David French on the eighteenth.
Next week, Wednesday the 14th November the Warblers are at Bonalba, the first tee is at 09.44 so we need to be there at 09.00. Guests are always welcome with a current handicap certificate.
