Individual Stableford Qualifier competition at La Serena, on Monday 5th March:
We had the full range of weather for one of our main events of the season but the cold, wind, rain and sun didn’t prevent some spectacular scoring from some of our members! Even more amazing was that Captain Paul Hamlin bought everyone a drink after the game, although his wallet is safely tucked away again for the duration now!
Division 1 winner and overall winner of the Captain’s Day Trophy was Richard Lovering, with 44 points, Second – Paul Matthews on 40, Third – Paul Newman with 34. In Division 2: First was Bobby Watson with 36 points, Second – Paul Hamlin on 33, Third – Adrian Sinclair on 32.
In Division 3: First was Dave Furze with 29 points, Second – Jeff Belt, also with 29 and Third – Christine Flanagan with yet another 29. Nearest the pins were won by Nigel Furze, Bob Watson, Paul Matthews and Paul Newman. The gross 2 (for 50 euros) was won by David Archer and the “monkey” was awarded to Mick Worthington.
Our next competition is a pairs betterball at Saurines, teeing off at 10:15pm on Wednesday 21st March. Full details will be emailed to all members. Payday will be on Saturday 17th March in the bar area of La Serena Club House, between 11:00am and 12:00.
