Lee Barber Memorial Trophy
Our venue for this month was at an old favourite of ours, Altorreal golf course, we teed off just before 11:00 in perfect weather conditions. Alto Real has recently relayed their greens but they were all ready to play on, today the tees were well back making the course more difficult, after having a coffee then paying in we were all ready to go, the sun was shining what more could we want.
After our game we returned to our sponsors bar Little Leias in Quesada for a few beers and sandwiches that Ian had laid on for us, onto our presentation.
Nearest the pins were on the fifth hole our new member Nick Monks the eighth was taken by Liam Clarke, and the seventeenth being won by Rob Ashman all received a bottle of wine, we had three players sharing the two’s pot they were Phil Harris, Liam Clarke, and Peter List.
Peter also won our soccer card by selecting Middlesbrough, in third place losing on countback was Joe Sheehan who also received a bottle of wine, Joe lost to Phil Harris who had a better back nine and took home bottles of red and white wine, but our winner on the day was Andy Rawlings receiving a bottle of Vodka and having his name added to our shield also his name has been added in our hall of fame on the society web site.
