Marabu Golf Society at Altorreal on 26th September 2019.

For this month’s meeting a group of 33 players visited the established course at Altorreal taking advantage of the excellent society deal obtained from Costa Blanca Green Fee Services.

The weather was beautiful and the course in superb condition despite the recent heavy rain.

The winning Scores were as follows:

Gold Division

1st – Kim Dixon – 42 points, 2nd – Alan Templeman – 36 points

Silver Division

1st – Colin McDonald – 29 points, 2nd – Bill Fantom – 27 points

Bronze Division

1st – Paul Fairbairn – 30 points, 2nd – Rod Allen – 29 points

Nearest the Pins – Griffin, Dixon, Fanning and Freeman

Football Card – Alan Templeman

After the game we returned to Broadway Uptown Quesada, which is located at Pueblo Brava, Quesada for a welcome meal prepared by the bar and the prize presentation and we give our thanks for their continued support.

Our next fixture is the interim game at Altorreal on 10th October 2019 followed by the society day at Vistabella on 24th October 2019.

Marabu Golf Society at Vistabella on 22nd February 2018.

For this month’s meeting a group of 22 players visited the established course at Vistabella taking advantage of the excellent society deal obtained from Costa Blanca Green Fee Services.

The weather was better than expected with no rain,bright sunshine but a stiff wind making scoring difficult.

The winning scores on the day were as follows:

1st – Chris Pinder – 36 points, 2nd – Danny Wheatley – 32 points, 3rd – Andy Junes – 31 points, 4th – Mike Probert – 31 points

Nearest the Pins – Mike Probert (2),Colin MacDonald and Mick Martin

Dog of a Day – Ron Nowland

Best Front Nine – Brian Smith – 19 points, Best Back Nine – Rod Allen – 15 points

Football Card – Graham Hall

After the game we returned to Leaf’s Restaurant, which is located at Pueblo Brava, Quesada for a welcome meal prepared by the bar and the prize presentation and we give our thanks for their continued support.

Our next  interim fixture is at Vistabella on 15th March 2018 followed by the society day at Hacienda Del Alamo on 29th March 2018.

Marabu Golf Society at Font del Llop on 25th January 2018.

For this month’s meeting a group of 20 players visited the established course at Font Del Llop taking advantage of the excellent society deal obtained from Costa Blanca Green Fee Services.

The weather was beautiful and the course in good condition but with some difficult tight pin positions.

The winning scores on the day were as follows: 1st – Steve Davey – 37 points, 2nd – Brian Smith – 35 points, 3rd – Bill Fantom – 34 points, 4th – Mike Probert – 34 points

For this month’s meeting a group of 24 players visited the established course at Las Colinas  taking advantage of the excellent society deal obtained from Costa Blanca Green Fee Services.

The weather was beautiful and as usual the course was in good condition with very fast greens.

Today was our Christmas Competition which took the format of a best 2 from 4 stableford

The winning scores on the day were as follows:

1st – Fantom,MacDonald,Wright,Laidler – 84 points, 2nd – Probert,Jones,Hanaway,Bartlam – 80 points, 3rd – Smith,Fanning,Speakman,Belson – 78 points, 4th – Ollier, Dexter, Kelly, Greenwood – 77 points

MARABU GOLF SOCIETY

For this month’s meeting a group of 15 players visited the established course at Campoamor taking advantage of the excellent society deal obtained from Costa Blanca Green Fee Services.

This was the first time EVER that our society have played this course and although the numbers were depleted by holidays and injury those that played enjoyed a course that was in good condition.

The winning scores on the day were as follows:

1st – Mike Probert – 35 points

2nd – Brian Smith – 31 points

3rd – Bill Fantom – 30 points

4th – Stuart Ross – 30 points

5th – Tony Robson – 30 points

MARABU GOLF SOCIETY

For this month’s meeting a group of 25 players visited the established course at Lo Romero taking advantage of the excellent society deal obtained from Costa Blanca Green Fee Services.

The course was in excellent condition and the weather beautiful and this reflected in good scoring.

Today was our annual Captain versus Vice-Captain challenge with the best 9 scores on each side to count and with a score of 291 points to 279 points the Vice-Captains team were the victors

The winning scores on the day were as follows:

Best Score Captains Team – Ian Quinton – 43 points

Best Score Vice-Captains Team – Bill Ford – 42 points

Nearest the Pins – Probert, Quinton, Sandry and Fanning

Dog of a Day (Could only be the losing team Captain Andy Jones) but personally he had 41 points.
