Paddy’s Point Golf Society

We had a good turnout of 40 golfers for our outing to RODA.  The course was in great condition buy the very fast greens proved very challenging and ruined a few scores.  The star of the show this month was John Batterby who scored 39 points and knocked 0.9 off his handicap.

Back at Paddy’s we were again well looked after and as always a big thank you goes to Hazel, Rory and their staff, your generosity is much appreciated.

NTP – Myra Coull, Dave Gaffney, Steve Nolan & John Batterby. LONG DRIVE – Neil O’Dowd. 2’s pot – John Batterby, Eldon Carey & Myra Coull.  BEST GUEST – Martin Coady 31pts.  3rd place Luke Branch 32pts c/b, 2nd Joe Adam 35pts, Winner John Batterby 39pts.

Our next outing is to Las Colinas on 11th July. Picture shows John receiving the trophy from our Captain Eldon Carey.

Our first outing of the year was to La Serena.  The weather was great and the course was playing tricky as usual.  Scoring was reasonable however our Vice Captain excelled himself by scoring 40 points as did one of our guests.  We again must thank a Paddy’s Point for an excellent evening meal and even though Rory And Hazel are cruising the Caribbean their staff looked after us well.

Paddys Point Golf Society

Two teams of 20 set off for Saurines de la Torre for the annual Chairman v Captain challenge match.  Golfing conditions were ideal and the course in great condition.  The match ended in a draw so Chairman Paul and Captain Rory were sent down the 19th to settle matters.

After much banter and heckling Rory managed to secure the win.  It proved to be a very sociable event especially back at Paddy’s.   Thank you again Hazel, Rory and staff for your hospitality.

There were no 2’s so the pot is rolled over.  Nearest the Pin winners were – Seamus McGearailt,  Jim Fegan, Bridie Lee and Jimmy Kiernan.  Longest Drive – Neal O’Dowd and Myra Coull.

Our next outing is to Alenda, by bus, on 8th November.
